Last Friday night, the Virginia Tech wrestling team clinched at least a tie for the ACC regular season championship with a win over North Carolina at home. On Sunday afternoon, the Hokies stepped out of ACC play and dropped a non-conference match to Oklahoma State in a battle of two powerhouse programs.

After that match, all eyes for the Hokies turned to Friday night's match at Cassell Coliseum against Duke, and a win would clinch the ACC title outright. Virginia Tech was the beneficiary of a couple of forfeits and rolled to a 26-17 win to finish conference play at 6-0, and they also improved to 11-3 overall. Next up is the ACC Championships on March 8 in Blacksburg.

This is a perfect ending to a tremendous regular-season for Tony Robie and the Hokies. They flexed their muscle each night in conference and proved to be the best team when the dust settled. Now, after two weeks off, they'll get ready for the ACC Championship meet at home before the NCAA Championship from March 19-21 in Cleveland at Rocket Arena. How dominating were the Hokies this year in conference play? They outsourced their opponents, 148-74. Total domination.
