Virginia Tech women's soccer latest to troll Jayden Daniels following win over VMI

When it comes to Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders, it isn't always about football on the field. When it comes to Daniels, he's been making more news off the field than he has been recently on it.

According to ESPN, a lawyer representing Daniels informed LSU that it can no longer use his name, image, and likeness. Why? Well, by now you probably know that Daniels is in a dispute with his former school because the school is letting sophomore quarterback DJ Pickett wear No. 5 this season. Nobody has worn the number since Daniels won the 2023 Heisman Trophy, and it hasn't been retired by the school.

Seems rather crazy, but nothing should be anymore. Anyway, since the news broke about Daniels and his dispute, social media has been talking about it, and different teams in different sports across different leagues and levels have chimed in and trolled the Commanders' signal caller. The latest? None other than the Virginia Tech women's soccer team.

Virginia Tech women's soccer X account latest to drop troll bomb on Jayden Daniels

On Sunday night, the Hokies women's soccer team improved to 2-0 early in the 2026 season with a 6-0 win over VMI at Thompson Field. After leading 1-0 at halftime, Virginia Tech erupted for five second-half goals on their way to a second straight win. After the game, the Hokies X account dropped a funny post regarding Daniels.

Now let's be honest, if you're Daniels, it's one thing to get trolled by the New York Mets or any other professional team. However, when the Virginia Tech women's soccer X account starts dropping trolling posts, well, then you know that there is no end in sight for this joke.

Coming into a season where the Hokies won just four games- the lowest number in franchise history- in 2025, they have wins over Old Dominion and VMI to begin 2026. They also have a tremendous troll job, and we are still in the middle of August.
