It's been two weeks since the Virginia Tech women's basketball team has played a game inside Cassell Coliseum. The last time Megan Duffy and her team took the floor at home, they were upset by Syracuse. Since that loss, they picked up a rout of Virginia in Charlottesville and dropped a five-point decision at North Carolina.

Now sitting on the NCAA Tournament bubble as one of the Last Four In per Charlie Creme's ESPN bracketology, the Hokies will play their final two home games of the 2024-25 season when they welcome one of three first-year ACC members to Blacksburg Thursday night.

How to watch Stanford at Virginia Tech women's basketball

There are just four games remaining before the ACC Tournament next month and the Hokies will host Stanford before California comes to town over the weekend. It's the first trip to Virginia for both schools as ACC members.

Date: Thursday, Feb. 20
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Venue: Cassell Colsieum
How to Watch: ACC Network, ESPN.com, ESPN+, or FuboTV
Virginia Tech Record: 16-9 (7-7 ACC)
Stanford Record: 13-12 (5-9 ACC)

The week off could not have been at a better time for Virginia Tech after center Rose Micheaux returned from an injury against UNC last week and then got another week off to rest. Without her, the Hokies struggled against Syracuse with any kind of inside presence, but they survived no inside presence in a 25-point blowout of Virginia.

Stanford is not the program they were under Tara Vanderveer as they as just one game over .500, but this is still a tricky game for the Hokies. A loss here would almost certainly drop them from Creme's NCAA Tournament projections. Also, there are seeding implications involved for the ACC Tournament next month as Virginia Tech is trying to avoid playing on the first day and a Top 9 seed is needed for that.
