Over the last couple of days, Virginia Tech women's basketball coach Megan Duffy quietly hosted a four-star, Top 100 Class of 2026 guard from the Northwest, Kaleo Anderson. Whatever happened during her visit was enough to convince her to commit to the Hokies on Thursday night.

A 5-foot-11 guard from Mill Creek, Washington, and a rising senior at King's School, Anderson is the first player in the Class of 2026 to commit to Virginia Tech, who is scheduled to host another talented member of that class, Atlee Vanesko, another four-star who is highly sought-after by multiple ACC schools. She has scheduled a visit in early September.
Virginia Tech picks up commitment from rising guard Kaleo Anderson
Anderson is a guard who can play multiple positions, which fits right into Duffy's guard-heavy lineups. The 66th-ranked player in her class by ESPN, Anderson as a junior averaged 23.9 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals this past winter.
Anderson's commitment gives Duffy 11 players under scholarship in 2026-27, which can change at the drop of a dime in the current state of college sports with the transfer portal. Four scholarships remain for that season, but you have to think that more commitments over the next handful of months will be coming.
Duffy continues to hit it big in recruiting as she did with her incoming Class of 2025 players who are on campus and practicing with their new teammates. When she took over for Kenny Brooks, Duffy has picked up the recruiting where he left it off and Duffy is doing a masterful job of putting her prints all over the Hokies program. Anderson quickly committed after her visit, which is a good sign.
