In her first season in Blacksburg, Megan Duffy put together a talented recruiting class with the Class of 2025. Now with three recruits on campus and working out for next season, Duffy and her staff will turn their recruiting attention to the Class of 2026.
A four-star recruit who is drawing a lot of interest from ACC schools and other Power 4 programs, Atlee Vanesko, has set a visit date with Duffy and Virginia Tech for early in the spring.

A 5-foot-11 combo guard, Vanesko, who hails from Norristown, Pa., is someone who sees the floor well, is the 57th-ranked player by 247Sports in her class, and is someone who would be a natural fit in the Hokies' lineup under Duffy. Brandon Clay of 247Sports wrote this about Vanesko in April.
"Vanesko brings Westtown a unique, do-it-all type of option in the backcourt. With 5-star Jordyn Palmer sidelined during this trip to Phoenix, Westtown looked to Vanesko to bring some punch on the offensive end. She responded as she often does by hitting timely shots and making good decisions with the basketball in her hands. Vanesko has true combo ability in that regard. She’s become a rising star in the class as we close in on their senior season."
Vanesko has already taken visits to Miami and Stanford and set visits dates to Ohio State on Aug. 30 and Virginia Tech on Sept. 6. Mississippi State, North Carolina, and Arizona State are also in the mix for her, but despite setting visit dates to Columbus and Blacksburg, Vanesko could cancel those and make her decision before then if she finds her right fit.

Before Vanesko makes her visit, the Hokies are reportedly hosting another four-star guard, Kaleo Anderson, from King's High School in Washington. Recruiting is picking up for Duffy and her staff.
