We are just two days away from Selection Sunday for the NCAA women's basketball tournament. According to Charlie Creme, Virginia Tech remains the last team out of the 68-team field, but the next couple of days are huge for the Hokies.

The two teams ahead of them? That would be Ivy League rivals Harvard and Princeton. Both of those teams will meet in the conference semifinals on Friday in what feels like could be an elimination game. The second-seeded Tigers and third-seeded Crimson will follow the first semifinal between top-seeded Columbia and fourth-seeded Penn. The nightcap os what Hokies fans will have the most interest in.

Virginia Tech commit named Gatorade Player of the Year

The postseason awards just keep rolling in for Virginia Tech commit Katie Sears, who was one of Megan Duffy's first commits in Blacksburg. Wednesday she was named the top player in the state of North Carolina and Thursday, she collected another award from the Tar Heel State.

Sears was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for her senior season at Watauga High School.

Georgia Amoore named Transfer of the Year by ESPN

When Kenny Brooks left Blacksburg for Kentucky last March, you knew that if Georgia Amoore was going to use her final year of eligibility, she would follow him. That's what she did. Creme handed out some awards and he named Amoore the Transfer of the Year in women's college basketball. It was tough watching Amoore play her final season in Lexington, but it shouldn't come as a surprise after Brooks up and left Virginia Tech.

Could Mike Young lose an assistant coach?

The Hokies men saw their season come to a disappointing end on Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the ACC Tournament with a double overtime loss to California. An important off-season begins for Mike Young and his staff, who are rumored to have a bigger NIL package, but could the veteran coach be one coach short soon?

Radford has an opening for a head coach and current Virginia Tech assistant JD Byers is rumored to be one of the three on the top of the school's list. Two other assistant coaches, Notre Dame Kyle Getter and current Radford assistant, Shane Nichols, are also rumored to be in play for the job, according to analyst Rocco Miller.
