It's hard to believe, but we are in the next to last full week of February, and March Madness is right around the corner. Also around the corner is spring football practices, which is going to be huge for Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry and his new staff. With new offensive and defensive coordinators and a new offensive line coach, there is a lot that needs to get done before mid-April.

On April 12, Virginia Tech will conclude spring practices with the annual Spring Game at Lane Stadium, however, not all schools are going to have a Spring Game this year. On Thursday, it was reported that Texas was not going to have a Spring Game, also joining Nebraska and USC.

This is something that should be a letdown within the fanbases and here's hoping that never happens at Virginia Tech. Aside from all 12 regular season games in the fall, the Spring Game is always circled on fans' calendars.

Wrestling to host NC State

Friday night, No. 10 Virginia Tech wrestling will host a Top 10 matchup when No. 7 North Carolina State comes to Blacksburg. The result of this match will determine who clinches at least a share of the ACC title and it will also be the final match for Sam Latona inside Cassell Coliseum.

Softball heads to Alabama

The Hokies softball team, which is 8-2, heads to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to take part in the Easton Bama Bash this weekend. Virginia Tech will play five games for the third consecutive weekend, beginning with Drake on Friday afternoon and No. 21 Alabama at night.

On Saturday, the Hokies will play a pair of games against Southern Utah on Saturday before finishing the weekend on Sunday against Alabama. Both games against the host Tide will be broadcast on SEC Network Extra.
