It has been a little over two weeks since the Virginia Tech football season ended with a 24-10 loss to Minnesota in the Duke's Mayo Bowl on Jan. 3. After that game, head coach Brent Pry expressed that he likes the way the program is headed going into 2025 despite a 2024 campaign that ended at 6-7, well below preseason expectations.
Since the Hokies beat Virginia on Thanksgiving Weekend to become bowl-eligible, there has been turnover with the coaching staff and roster. Several key players from this past season's team either entered the transfer portal or are headed for the NFL Draft. To make up for all the players leaving, Virginia Tech has added 20 players from the portal along with several early incoming freshmen.
Before we know it, spring practices will begin and then it'll be time for the annual Spring Game at Lane Stadium and on Monday, the school released the date and time for the Hokies Spring Game in Blacksburg.
Virginia Tech sets date and time for 2025 Spring Game
On Monday, Virginia Tech released the date time for the 2025 Spring Game. The game will be played on April 12 and begin at 3 o'clock. It is going to be action-packed weekend with the women's lacrosse team hosting Syracuse, the softball team hosting Notre Dame and the baseball team hosting ACC power Florida State.
It's said every year that the Spring Game is a must-watch but, that may never be more true for Pry who is entering his fourth season at the helm of the program and is facing a huge season in terms of his future. He has been active through the portal and brought in several players who are experienced and graded out well from their previous school. This will be a big weekend for the Hokies.
