Virginia Tech women's basketball coach Megan Duffy is off to a good start when it comes to recruiting in the Class of 2026. Currently, she has commitments from guard Kaleo Anderson and Arianna Harris-Mott already. Anderson is the 66th-ranked player according to ESPN2026 SportsCenter NEXT 100.
A fast-rising guard in the upcoming senior class is making a name for herself this summer on the AAU circuit. Five-foot-7 guard Aaliah Spaight has been tearing it up at the Nike Nationals, and Virginia Tech is in the thick of her recruiting, and she's expected to schedule a visit to Blacksburg this fall with Duffy.
At the Nike Nationals, she is averaging 28.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists a game, and on Monday, she had 33 points, seven rebounds, and five assists to lead her team to the Championship Game. Her recruitment is only going to pick up with Michigan State, Arizona State, Texas Tech, Rutgers, and Washington also entering the mix. A scoring guard who can dish the ball would fit perfectly into Duffy's lineup in the future.
Virginia Tech men in the mix for four-star Class of 2027 combo guard
Four-star Class of 2027 guard Oneal Delancy is transferring to Montverde Academy for his junior season, and he is generating some buzz. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is hearing from Virginia Tech, Houston, Maryland, Florida State, and South Florida, according to Sam Kayser.
According to 247Sports, Delancy is the 12th-ranked prospect in the state of Florida, and the St. Petersburg native is the 41st overall prospect in the ESPN60. This recruitment feels like Chester Frazier has his hands on it, which should keep the Hokies in the mix for a while. Delancy has yet to pick up an official offer of record from Virginia Tech, but that feels like it's only a matter of time before he does.
