The second Saturday in March means one thing, March Madness is in full effect. The ACC Women's Basketball Tournament is in the semifinals in Greensboro and the men are playing their final regular season games on Saturday as there is still plenty to be determined in terms of seeding the men's tournament next week in Charlotte.
This season, the bottom three teams will not make the tournament and that means Miami, Boston College, and North Carolina State will have their seasons end on Saturday with the other 15 teams heading to Charlotte. With one day of games, there is a lot at stake for a lot of teams in terms of the NCAA Tournament, as well as seeding for the ACC Tournament. For Virginia Tech, seeding is in play for the conference tournament.
How to watch Virginia Tech at Clemson men's basketball game
Virginia Tech enters their second matchup with No. 11 Clemson with an 8-11 ACC record, while Clemson is 17-2 with a top three seed locked up and a double bye. The Tigers won the game earlier this season in Blacksburg, 72-57, in January. This game will begin at 6 p.m. and be broadcast on the ACC Network, ESPN.com, ESPN+, or FuboTV.
For Virginia Tech, the question is whether or not their leading scorer and rebounder, Tobi Lawal, will be back in the lineup for head coach Mike Young after missing the last couple of games. This is a nice opportunity for some of the younger Hokies, Ben Hammond and Tyler Johnson, to get some action on the road in a tough environment for the future.
Chase Hunter has been one of Clemson's leading scorers this year, averaging 16.4 points a game while Ian Schieffelin is a beast on the boards averaging 9.5 a night. He is also averaging 13.1 points a game and can be a matchup nightmare for opponents.
