The recruiting season for college football is in full swing for the Class of 2026. Some of the top recruits in the country are officially locking in visit dates for the spring. Some are going to make visits in April during the weekend of the Spring Games, while some are locking visits for the big period in June.
Virginia Tech has been getting dates locked in for the next couple of months and they have one locked in for a priority offensive lineman who recently dropped his Top 5 schools and the Hokies made the cut along with two other ACC schools and two SEC schools.
Virginia Tech to host OL recruit Tre Aiken in June
Virginia Tech fired offensive coordinator Ron Crook back in December as one of three coaches let go by Brent Pry. It took seven weeks, but Pry hired former West Virginia offensive line coach Matt Moore to replace Crook. Moore has a history of producing NFL linemen and is a very good hire. He is well respected and there is no more evidence than the former Mountaineer players following him to Blacksburg.
Moore has a major rebuilding project in front of him this season and in the future. He is also facing a vital recruiting spring and he'll have highly-touted Tre Aiken from Clinton, South Carolina, making his official from June 12-15. The other schools battling with the Hokies are Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Florida, and South Carolina.
First off, thank God for another 365 days around the clock, blessed to be able to see 17!! I also wanna thank God for putting me in this position! Now here’s my top 5! BLESSED‼️ @GeepWade @CoachTeasley @Coach2J @CoachMooreVT @CoachRobSale @BALLCOACH_D @CoreyFountain6 @jp_ pic.twitter.com/ZpuBGXJ6mU

Aiken was on campus last October when Virginia Tech beat Georgia Tech, 21-6, but according to 247Sports, he is looking to plan a visit in April for the Spring Game at Lane Stadium.
Currently in the Class of 2026, Virginia Tech has a commitment from wide receiver Carnell Warren, but you would have to think that Aiken is a priority for Moore and Pry. Given the success in recruiting in the state of South Carolina lately, you have to think that the Hokies have a decent shot of landing the 6-foot-3, 286-pound Aiken.
