Recruiting in the Class of 2026 is still very much a hot topic, but for Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry and his staff, it has been a rather quiet one compared to other ACC schools. At the time this article is being written, the Hokies are still without a quarterback in the class after getting a commitment from four-star Peyton Falzone, who later de-committed and is now committed to Auburn.
Virginia Tech currently has two freshmen signal callers on the roster in Kelden Ryan and A.J. Brand, and as always, if needed, Pry can look to address the QB situation through the Transfer Portal if necessary. However, the Hokies have an opportunity to begin recruiting in the Class of 2027 by getting a commitment from a quarterback from Georgia.
Virginia Tech football makes Final 4 four three-star QB from Georgia
Three-star quarterback Ben Musser from Georgia listed his Final 4 schools ahead of his commitment on July 31, and the Hokies are one of the four. Joining them are Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, and Purdue. That's a strange list for a QB recruit from Georgia if we're being honest.
Honored to be in this position!

Regardless, Virginia Tech is clearly on his radar after he took part in the Hokies Summer Camp where he cleared 31 feet on the triple broad jump. He also showed off his explosive arm, which earned him an offer. As a sophomore last fall, he threw for just under 1,500 yards, 15 touchdowns, while rushing for just under 800 yards and eight more touchdowns.
A dual-threat QB in Blacksburg is something that the Hokies covet with Kyron Drones, and with new offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery, this might be the best system for Musser. However, Vanderbilt is also lurking with Jerry Kill, another coach who has had a lot of success with QBs. Musser has set a commitment date for July 31.
