Virginia Tech women's basketball coach Megan Duffy has been doing an impressive job of adding commitments in the Class of 2027. So far, Duffy and the Hokies have commitments from two top-60 players in the class, Dani Robinson and Lillie Graves. Now, Virginia Tech has a third after another pledge for Duffy.
Point guard Jazman Bailey, from Mansfield, Texas, is the 41st-ranked player in the Class of 2027 according to ESPN, and she committed to Virginia Tech. The list of schools that the Hokies beat out for Bailey is impressive. Some of the schools that were in the mix were Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Louisville, North Carolina, North Carolina State, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Oregon, and others.
Bailey eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau last season at Lake Ridge High School, and she played for Team USA at the 2025 FIBA Under-16 AmeriCup, where she won a Gold Medal.
Mike Young hosting a four-star recruit this weekend
While Duffy is getting a commitment from a four-star guard for the women, Mike Young and the men are hosting their own four-star recruit this weekend, when Jamaal McKnight visits, according to Sam Kayser of League Ready.
A top 100 recruit according to SportsCenter NEXT, McKnight has already visited UNLV and Boise State before coming to Blacksburg. He is ranked No. 89 by SportsCenter NEXT. You can bet Chester Frazier will be involved in the 6-foot-0 guards' visit.
Former Virginia Tech players in the NFL
Some former Virginia Tech football players are going to be in action this weekend in the NFL. On Sunday afternoon, Bhayshul Tuten and the Jacksonville Jaguars will host the New England Patriots, while Joey Slye and the Tennessee Titans will visit Tremaine Edmunds and the New York Giants; Jaylin Lane and Tim Settle and the Washington Commanders will host the Seattle Seahawks in games that begin at 1 p.m.
