Last week, it was reported that Virginia Tech football was losing a quarterback to the transfer portal. No, not Kyron Drones or Pop Watson, both of whom missed the Spring Game 10 days ago because of injuries, but their backup last season, Davi Belfort.
With true incoming freshmen quarterbacks Kelden Ryan and A.J. Brand both participating in spring practices and the game with Belfort, the redshirt freshman from Florida might have seen something coming. On Monday, the signal caller posted a goodbye on his X account to Hokies teammates, coaches, and fans.
Beyond grateful for my time at Virgina Tech. Thank you to all the coaches, players, and fans for welcoming my family and I with open arms forever grateful for Hokie Nation. I am so excited for the next chapter of my life. God is good Romans 8:28 🙏 pic.twitter.com/RcbdnXQ26N

It'll be interesting to see where Belfort ends up in the portal.
Another Virginia Tech transfer portal entry on defense
The Hokies and head coach Brent Pry took another hit on the defensive side of the ball with a player entering the transfer portal. Linebacker/Defensive Back Cameren Fleming announced on Monday that he's entering the portal.
A redshirt sophomore, Fleming only appeared in four games during his time in Blacksburg, making just two tackles. You can't blame him for entering the portal after being moved around to multiple positions on defense and staff, not settling on a specific position.
Women's basketball loses portal battle to Vanderbilt
Megan Duffy has one big need for next season and that is a presence in the middle with Rose Micheaux out of eligibility. Duffy hosted LSU transfer Aalyah Del Rosario, but on Monday, the center decided to remain in the SEC, rather than making the jump to the ACC.
Del Rosario commmitted to Vanderbilt and head coach Shea Ralph. The 6-foot-6 inside presence didn't get much time for the Tigers and would have beena huge addition to Virginia Tech, but she instead chose the Commodores.
Baseball time changed against VCU
After dropping two out of three over the weekend at home to North Carolina, the Hokies baseball team will hit the road for a non-conference road game Tuesday night at VCU. First pitch was originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m., but it has been bumped up to 5:30 and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
