Slowly but surely, Megan Duffy has been putting her fingerprints on the Virginia Tech women's basketball program when it comes to recruiting over the last couple of seasons. When it comes to the Class of 2027, recruiting is booming for Duffy.

Going into Friday, the Hokies had three Top 100 recruits committed in the current senior class in high school. Guard Dani Robinson is ranked 28th, guard Jazman Baikey is ranked No. 41, and Lillie Graves is ranked No. 60. Officially on Friday, that number rose to four.

Six-foot-2 forward Ashley Kreiger is ranked 93rd in the Class of 2027, and she committed to Virginia Tech. The Westtown (Pa.) High School standout visited the Hokies back in September, and she picked Virginia Tech over Arizona, Virginia, Alabama, BYU, and Georgia Tech. Four commits in the senior class is a very nice start so far for Duffy and her staff.

Virginia Tech men's basketball edges Wofford

The start of the 2026-27 college basketball season is a couple of weeks away, and on Friday night, the Hokies men's basketball team had a scrimmage at Wofford and edged the Terriers, 78-76, according to Terrence Oglesby of The Field of 68.

It was an interesting starting lineup for Mike Young and Virginia Tech, according to Oglesby. The Hokies started Ben Hammond, Jaylen Curry, Isaiah Elohim, Amani Hansberry, and Miles Heide. One noticeable missing name is Tyler Johnson, but you have to think that once the regular season begins, the junior will be in it. He's a big part of the club this season, assuming he can stay healthy.
