Back in January, Virginia Tech made the cut for the Top 12 schools for elite Class of 2026 offensive lineman Carter Scruggs from Virginia. With recruiting trips picking up some serious steam over the next month, Scruggs has some key visits set up, but it doesn't appear he'll be coming to Blacksburg from Leesburg.
Scruggs will reportedly take four visits over the next month, beginning Friday with Clemson. He'll also make visits to Michigan on June 6, Penn State on June 13, and Georgia on June 20. Oklahoma and Virginia Tech are still hanging around on Scruggs, but it appears that he's narrowed his list down to the four visits he's taking, and that is not good news for Brent Pry and his staff in terms of needing to land some top recruits to the Class of 2026.
On an X post from On3, which listed six schools, Virginia's logo was on the tweet instead of Virginia Tech's, but he later corrected it with another X post. Of course, you can imagine the response that it got from both Virginia Tech and Virginia fans. This would be another tough recruiting loss for the Hokies.
Elizabeth Kitley records first double-digit career game
It has been a long road for former Virginia Tech women's basketball standout Elizabeth Kitley to getting on the court in the WNBA. She missed all of the 2024 season recovering from ACL surgery and the Las Vegas Aces are slowly working her into the lineup early this season. Her hard work is starting to pay off.
In a 102-82 loss to the Seattle Storm on Sunday, Kitley scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds in 16 minutes for Las Vegas. The Aces fell to 2-2 with the loss, but Kitley is slowly improving with each game, which is good to see.
