Last weekend, Virginia Tech running back Bhayshul Tuten had a night to remember in Blacksburg against Boston College. Apparently it didn’t catch the eye of one of college football’s biggest known analyst and that’s where we’ll begin this edition of Virginia Tech Hokies News.

Virginia Tech fans troll Kirk Herbstreit

One day after the Haily Mary overturn in Miami on Sept. 27, Kirk Herbstreit on College GameDay said what Hokies’ fans thought, the call shouldn’t have been overturned. Talk about adding pain to Virginia Tech fans.

Three weeks later Virginia Tech fans are now giving it to ESPN's top analyst released his top seven performances on his X account and there was one glaring omission. Coming in at No. 7 was Hokies’ edge rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland who had four sacks. Missing was running back Bhayshul Tuten who set the all-time school record for rushing yards in a game with 266 and three touchdowns on the ground and one through the air.

Don’t get me wrong, there were several big performances last weekend across college football, but there were not a lot of school records broken. Tuten was named a Player of the Week through other media outlets, but, oddly, one of the biggest analysts in college football omitted Tuten’s performance.

Women's soccer team remains ranked

The Hokies women's soccer team remains ranked in the United States Coaches Top 25 Poll, coming in at No. 19 this week. Virginia Tech will play at North Carolina State on Thursday night at 6 and then play at No. 7 Notre Dame on Sunday.

Men's soccer to host nationally-ranked Duke Friday night

The Hokies men's soccer team will look to rebound from a loss at Wake Forest last weekend when they host Duke, which is ranked 10th in the latest United States Coaches Top 25 Poll, Friday night at Thompson Field at 6 p.m.
