This is going to be a busy July for Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry and his staff in terms of commitments with the Class of 2026. Right now, the Hokies have eight commitments so far after four-star offensive lineman Thomas Wilder committed on Thursday night. Saturday, the Hokies are hoping to get another offensive lineman commitment.

One day after losing out on wide receiver Travis Johnson to Michigan, the Hokies will wait on interior offensive lineman Adrian Hamilton's decision on Saturday afternoon. Recent Crystal Ball predictions have Virginia Tech landing him, which would be another win for first-year offensive line coach Matt Moore. This feels like a commitment or bust for Hamilton.

ACC buyouts released

Florida State and Clemson have been looking for a way out of the ACC, it's been no secret. On3 Sports released the year-by-year exit fees that would be paid if a school were to leave. let's just say that by the year 2030-36, it might very well be the end of the ACC as we know it now.

As you can see in the tweet above, no school will be leaving for the next four years, but after that, it might be game on. After 2029-30, it's really game on in terms of teams looking to bolt the conference. Who stays and who goes, I think we can name those schools, but expect more conference realignment before all is said and done.

Bre Peck leaves Blacksburg with incredible numbers

Bre Peck's career on the softball diamond for Virginia Tech is over, but she will not be forgotten with some of the numbers she put in Blacksburg. She holds Virginia Tech records for home runs (54), RBI (182), and total bases (420). She started 213 games over four seasons and leaves with a career batting average of .332 and a slugging % of .652. What a career for one of the Hokies' batters who was a must-watch every time she stepped into the box. Somehow, she was not on an All-ACC team for the 2025 campaign. Go figure.
