Things are about to pick up recruiting-wise for Virginia Tech men's basketball coach Mike Young in the Class of 2026 with visits. September begins a busy month of potential recruits, and the Hokies have one scheduled with a four-star shooting guard, Harris Reynolds, according to Dushawn London of 247Sports.

Reynolds, who plays at St. Pius X Catholic in Georgia, has scheduled a visit on Sept. 5 to Blacksburg and the Hokies. He also has other visits set up with Clemson, VCU, Vanderbilt, Saint Louis, Texas A&M, and South Florida. An athletic guard at 6-foot-4, he is becoming a fast-riser in the senior class and has plenty of options. Chester Frazier will likely check in on his visit along with Young.

Women's soccer rips Clemson

The Hokies women's soccer team picked up a third straight victory to begin the season with a 4-0 shutout of Clemson in a non-conference match at Thompson Field. Natalie Mitchell scored her first of two goals in the 9th minute, then tallied her second in the 52nd minute. Anna Weir and Eliana Salama rounded out the scoring.

Virginia Tech will close out a three-game homestand with a match against Georgetown at 5:30 on Sunday before hitting the road to Liberty next week.

West Virginia AD mentions potential Virginia Tech matchup

West Virginia AD Wren Baker spoke to the media on Friday, and the Big 12's conference schedule came up, which is nine games, similar to what the SEC is going to have next season. However, Wren mentioned to the media that if West Virginia played eight conference games, he would welcome an eternal series with Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.

I know Pitt and West Virginia fans love the "Backyard Brawl", but think about the momentum of a West Virginia/Virginia Tech series on the football field. Somehow, someway, this needs to happen every fall.
