Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry wrapped up another key recruiting weekend with several players on campus in Blacksburg. This past weekend, Nick Reddish, the younger brother of Quentin and Joseph, visited, but there was also a Class of 2026 recruit in the midst of his visits to Power 4 programs.
Currently, in the Class of 2026, the Hokies have a commitment from four-star wide receiver Carnell Warren and two other commitments. This past weekend, a three-star running back from Salisbury, N.C., took his visit and had an “amazing” visit.
Virginia Tech football recruit had an “amazing” visit as commitment nears
Running back Jamal Rule from North Carolina took his visit to Virginia Tech and had an “amazing” time, which could potentially bode well for Pry and the Hokies. The 6-foot-0, 205-pound Rule is becoming a sought-after member of the Class of 2026 as things begin to heat up in June.
ACC schools are giving him the most attention as he took a visit to Syracuse the last weekend in May and has a visit scheduled to Boston College on June 20. Rule will take a visit this upcoming weekend to Nebraska.
Along with Warren, the Hokies have a commitment from linebacker Joshua Pittman and kicker Will Love in the Class of 2026, and it feels like Virginia Tech is lagging behind some of the other programs in terms of commits to date. That will hopefully change this month and over the summer, as more and more players are going to make their decisions.
A playmaker every time the ball is in his hands, Rule you would think is a priority for Pry and Virginia Tech, considering the need for playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. He is expected to finish out his visits this month before making his commitment, likely sometime this summer.
