The Virginia Tech football team is in full recruiting mode for the second straight weekend with a slew of recruits on campus. Head coach Brent Pry and his staff have a handful of commitments already in the Class of 2026, with hopefully more on the horizon.

This weekend has a handful of priority recruits on campus, and one of them, Kamdon Gillespie, is a three-star edge from Mooresville, N.C. He posted on his X account this weekend that he was in Blacksburg. Just hours after that post, he re-released his Top 3 on his X account, with Virginia Tech making the cut along with Georgia Tech and South Florida.

Gillespie has set a commitment date of July 4, and it will come down to the Hokies, Yellow Jackets, and Bulls. He visited Georgia Tech last weekend and will take his final visit at the end of the month at South Florida. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound edge is the 43rd-ranked player in North Carolina, according to 247Sports.

You get the feeling that this is a vital weekend for the Hokies, having Gillespie in Blacksburg for his official visit. Edge has been his position, but it wouldn't be out of the question to see him make a move to linebacker at the next level, and his decision might come down to where he fills the school he chooses will use him at the position he wants to play. This is where new defensive coordinator Sam Siefkes comes into play during his visit with Pry.

This is a recruitment that will likely go down to the wire between Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and South Florida. The Hokies have their work cutout for them in this recruitment, but there chance to impress is this weekend.
