As we go beyond the midway point of the month of January, classes are resuming on college campuses and that means one thing, early enrollees for the Class of 2025 in football are making their way to campus.
This past weekend, Virginia Tech had some members of the Class of 2025 move in on campus as the spring semester started and before you know it, spring practices will soon be underway. Virginia Tech announced on Monday that their annual spring game will be played on April 12 at Lane Stadium.
Head coach Brent Pry has put together another good recruiting class together with the Class of 2025 and they are scoring better than expected against other programs across the country. According to 247Sports, the Hokies incoming class ranks rather well compared to other ACC schools as well as across the country.
Virginia Tech Class of 2025 gets Top 40 ranking from 247Sports
247Sports released their updated Class of 2025 rankings and Virginia Tech scored well, coming in at No. 7 in the ACC and 36th nationally. The Hokies picked up a late addition to the class in December during the early-signing day when Jahmari DeLoatch flipped his commitment to Virginia Tech from Cincinnati.
Currently in the Class of 2025, aside from DeLoatch, the Hokies also have four stars Jeff Overton, a running back who the coaching staff is high on and could make an impact as soon as 2025, and wide receiver Shamarius Peterkin from Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Ranking ahead of Virginia Tech in the ACC are Miami, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Clemson, SMU, and Duke. This is also the class where the Hokies lost wide receiver Matthew Outten who flipped to Penn State back in September.
Pry had a lot of success in the Class of 2025 recruiting within the state of Virginia as he has 12 of his 20 commits from the Commonwealth, something he has made a priority since being hired four. years ago.
