The first big weekend of recruiting for college football is here. Beginning this weekend and over the next four weeks, dozens of recruits in the Class of 2026 will be taking multiple visits, with some coming close to making their announcements later this month or this summer.

Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry and his staff have several recruits on campus this weekend, including cornerback Shawn Church. There is also another big recruit on campus this weekend, and with an ACC recruiting battle heating up, the Hokies get the first opportunity to impress a three-star wide receiver from North Carolina.

Virginia Tech football hosting three-tar WR Jaire Richburg in ACC recruiting battle

Rising Class of 2026 wide receiver Jaire Richburg from Kernersville, N.C., will be taking a visit this weekend to Virginia Tech in what is turning into an ACC recruiting battle. He will visit North Carolina State in late June before making his decision. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver is also a standout basketball player.

CBS Sports Network college football recruiting analyst Tom Lemming called Richburg one of the top wide receivers in the Class of 2026 on the East Coast.

"[Jaire Richburg] is one of the top wide receivers in the Atlantic Coast region," Lemming posted on his X account back in February. “Wide catch radius, attack the ball in the air, shows twitchy athletic ability, and is very physical off the ball. 4.1 GPA."

A Crystal Ball prediction logged in at 247Sports for Richburg has him going to NC State, but Pry will get the first shot at hosting him. Virginia Tech already has a wide receiver in the Class of 2026, Carnell Warren, from South Carolina, committed. Richburg holds over a dozen offers, but is reportedly only taking two visits, and you would have to think that Fontal Mines will be heavily involved in his visit.
