Since Philip Montgomery took over for Brent Pry when Virginia Tech fired the former Penn State defensive coordinator last month, the Hokies have gone 2-0, beating Wofford and North Carolina State.
Virginia Tech returns home this weekend to play Wake Forest for what will be Homecoming. Looking for a third straight victory to pull even halfway through the 2025 season, you knew with this being a special weekend in Blacksburg that the Hokies would be breaking out a special uniform combination. That was the case, and it was released on the team's X account late Wednesday afternoon.
Virginia Tech drops sick uniform reveal for Wake Forest game on X account Wednesday
Prior to Virginia Tech's season opener against South Carolina at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, they dropped a fantastic video on their X account about which uniform they would be wearing. They did it again before this weekend's game.
The Hokies will don an orange shirt with white pants, but the helmet is the biggest eye-opener this weekend. The VT on the helmet is a beautiful color of orange/creamsicle, which you can bet will win over a lot of Virginia Tech fans.

The uniform is sharp-looking and will look even better in game action on Saturday afternoon at Lane Stadium against the Demon Deacons. Virginia Tech has gone with a complete orange look, but this combination looks sharp again, with the helmets looking the best.
Doing this should be done more often, other than the season opener and the annual Homecoming Game. After this weekend, the Hokies will have three more home games against California at the end of the month, then they will host Louisville and Miami as part of a brutal stretch in November to close out the season. Hopefully, there will be more uniform reveals to come.
