We are just 12 days away from the 2025 ACC Kickoff beginning on July 22 in Charlotte, North Carolina, which is the unofficial kickoff to the college football seaosn. As far as Virginia Tech goes, the Hokies won't take the stage until Day 3 on July 24. On Thursday, they released which players who will be attending the event with head coach Brent Pry.

It will be a mixture of familiar faces for Virginia Tech fans and a newcomer heading to Charlotte. Joining Pry to speak with th media and soak in the beginning of the new season is quarterback Kyron Drones, linebacker Jaden Keller, defensive lineman Kelvin Gilliam, Jr., and Wake Forest transfer wide receiver Donovan Greene.

Joining Virginia Tech on Day 3 of the Kickoff is Boston College, Clemson, Duke, North Carolina, and North Carolina State.

This is a nice mixture for the Hokies to bring to Charlotte as Drones is coming back off a season that saw him miss four of the last five games, including the bowl loss to Minnesota with multiple injuries, He then missed the final week of Spring practices and the Spring Game when he underwent a medical procedure. It was announced in December that Drones and Pop Watson would both be returning for the 2025 season.

Gilliam is expected to be a big piece of the defensive line for Virginia Tech this season after they lost talent to the NFL and graduating players. The Oklahoma transfer going into last season can be a difference-maker this season. Keller is back with Caleb Woodson to anchor the linebacking core that will be a big position for first-year defensive coordinator Sam Siefkes.

Greene is a graduate transfer and will have a lot of balls thrown at him from Drones this season after the wide receiver position was devastated with graduation and players leaving for the NFL. Along with Greene, expect Cameron Seldon to make some noise in the passing game this fall for the Hokies.
