Saturday afternoon, the Virginia Tech football team held a 14-3 halftime lead at Syracuse in a key ACC battle in New York. Hokies' kicker John Love went out to practice his kicks and what he did seems to have struck a nerve with Orange coach Fran Brown.

Love went out to practice some kicks at halftime at the JMA Wireless Dome and did so in the middle of the Syracuse's bands performance. Monday, Brown met with the media and of course, was asked about it and didn't hold back his frustration about and called out Love for being disrespectful.

"Our band was out there doing their thing and he was kicking in the middle of our band, I don't like that,'' said Brown. "Those kids go to class, they practice every day, they do all that so when I seen and heard that I was really pissed about that, don't nobody disrespect our band and do those things. I'm happy it went the way it went, but honestly, I'm ready to go place Boston College.

That's no disrespect to their coach (Brent Pry) or whatever like that, but there's certain things you don't do, you don't disrespect the Syracuse band when their out there doing their stuff.''

It's clear that Brown was irked and was happy that his team was able to come back and beat Virginia Tech in overtime, 38-31 with a 28-point second half to send the game to overtime. Monday, Love posted an apology on his X account for his actions, but judging by Brown, the damage was done, his team for the final laugh with the win over the Hokies and he's on to Boston College this upcoming weekend in Chestnut Hill. Love and the Hokies are onto Clemson in Blacksburg as they look to become bowl-eligible against a tough ACC team.
