After a disappointing 2024 season that began with so much hope, the Virginia Tech football team and head coach Brent Pry are facing a pivotal 2025 season, to say the least. After coming off another 6-6 regular season that needed a win over Virginia Thanksgiving Weekend to become bowl-eligible again, the Hokies are facing more questions than answers going into this fall.

Pry fired three assistant coaches in December and lost Tyler Bowen as offensive coordinator to Ohio State as the offensive line coach. Talk about sending a message. Now, with Philip Montgomery on board as the new offensive coordinator, Sam Siefkes as the new defensive coordinator, and Matt Moore as the new offensive line coach, it's set to be an interesting camp this summer ahead of the season.

Virginia Tech has had a large amount of roster turnover this offseason between the transfer portal and the NFL Draft, along with players using up all of their eligibility. Factor in coaching changes, injuries to key players this offseason, and again, a tough schedule, you can see why there are more questions than answers facing the Hokies.

Pry has done a nice job of filling some of the holes on the roster through the portal, and there are some promising young players in the program that are ready to step in and contribute, but can Pry survive another 6-6 or worse season, regardless of the roster and schedule? That remains to be seen, but let's rank the Hokies' 2025 opponents from easiest to hardest this upcoming season.
