Women's 2024 NCAA Basketball Tournament: Selection date & Tournament dates

As the calendar turns to March, that means one thing and one thing only, March Madness is right around the corner. Women's conference play for the 2023-24 season is wrapping up and a lot of conference tournaments kickoff next week, including the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Virginia Tech locked up the top seed for the ACC Tournament last Sunday with a 74-62 victory over North Carolina at Cassell Coliseum in their final regular season home game. It's very unlikely that it was the final home game this season where the Hokies are 15-0 as they are on course to host the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season in Blacksburg.

This season's tournament will be broken down into two regionals for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight in Portland, Oregon, and Albany, New York. The Final Four will be held at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio the first weekend in April.

This year, the ACC could see nine or 10 teams called on Selection Sunday in just over two weeks as the conference has been getting that many teams in a lot of different bracketology projections. Along with Virginia Tech, North Carolina State could be in line to host the first and second rounds and if the Hokies or Wolfpack win the ACC Tournament, they could be hosting as a No. 1 seed of a regional. Time for the greatest month of college basketball to begin!

• Final Four: Friday, April 5 at 6:30 and 9 p.m.

• NCAA championship game: Sunday, April 7 at 3 p.m. at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Cleveland, Ohio.
