Coming off a 38-34 loss at Miami last Friday after the Virginia Tech football team had what appeared to be the game-winning touchdown overturned by replay review, the Hokies must pick up the pieces and go West. Brent Pry and his team will head to California this upcoming weekend for an ACC game at first-year member Stanford.

This is not going to be an easy game for a number of reasons for Virginia Tech. They have to fly cross-country, they are banged up and the Cardinal have looked better early this season than some may have thought they would. If there is one thing that we’ll take away from this game, it’s what the Hokies are made of after a devastating loss to the Hurricanes. Whether the overturn was right or wrong (I still haven’t seen indisputable video evidence), Virginia Tech’s reslienscy will be tested this weekend.

As the Hokies get ready to head to California, here is all the information you need on how to watch, the latest odds and history between the two programs.

Virginia Tech vs. Stanford: Odds

On Sunday, Virginia Tech opened as a 5-point favorite, which was a little surprising, but according to DraftKings, the line has seen a big movement in favor of the Hokies, and at the time this article is being written, it’s up to 8.5 points.

Virginia Tech vs. Stanford: History

This is the first ACC game between the two teams, who have played one other time. On Jan. 3, 2011, Stanford beat the Hokies, 40-12, in the Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Yes, the same place as last Friday night’s fiasco. Virginia Tech will be looking to even the all-time series with the Cardinal.
