Once again, the transfer portal is going to play a big part in assembling a Mike Young roster at Virginia Tech. Last season the veteran coach grabbed some players out of the portal and once again, he needs to do it to put together a 2024-25 roster.

Sean Pedulla, MJ Collins, and John Camden remain in the portal, while Lynn Kidd has committed to Miami, and Tyler Nickel committed to Vanderbilt. When Pedulla entered the portal, he left the door open to return to Blacksburg, but with each passing day, it seems unlikely. This past weekend, he reportedly took an official visit to a school in his home state.

Sean Pedulla reportedly visited Oklahoma

According to OUInsider Brody Lusk, Pedulla visited the University of Oklahoma and head coach Porter Moser over the past weekend. The Edmond, Oklahoma native will be entering his senior season and the Sooners need a point guard for next season and adding Pedulla would be a huge addition with his ability to score the ball.

This past season at Virginia Tech he had a lot of responsibilities dropped on him in terms of handling the ball, but despite struggling with turnovers, he was able to take his offensive games to the next level and score the ball, something that Oklahoma desperately needs. I have had a feeling that if either Oklahoma or Oklahoma State came calling, he would end up at one of those schools. We'll see.

Virginia Tech reaches out to Clemson transfer

Young and his staff reportedly reached out to Clemson transfer RJ Godfrey who this season for the Tigers in their run to the Elite Eight averaged 6.5 points a game and 3.4 rebounds a night. The 6-foot-8 forward is a native of Georgia and finished with 12 points in Clemson's Elite Eight loss to Alabama last month. He had six points against the Hokies back in January in Virginia Tech's win over Clemson in Blacksburg.

Another athletic forward that would be a nice addition to the front court for the Hokies, but in most cases, there is serious interest from a lot of schools for him in 2024-25.
