Kyron Drones

Maybe the biggest player to announce that they were coming back in 2024 was quarterback Kyron Drones, a Baylor transfer who took over last season when Grant Wells went down in Week 2 with an injury against Purdue. He got better as the season went along and finished with a 17-3 touchdown to interception ratio, while also becoming a duel-threat QB with his ability to run the ball.

This season he'll run the ball, but may not need to do it as much as he did last year as he had four wide receivers, Ali Jennings, Stephen Gosnell, Da'Quan Felton, and Jaylin Lane all coming back. Factor in running back Bhayshul Tuten coming back as well, offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen is going to have a lot of options at his disposal.

If the offensive line can play better than they did last season and protect Drones, the Hokies will be able to put up a lot of points on the board and Drones will have a lot of options to throw to.
