In this edition of Virginia Tech News, the football team offers multiple players a scholarship and Georgia Amoore is a finalist for one of the top awards.

Football extends multiple scholarship offers

Brent Pry and his staff have been out on the recruiting trail over the last couple of weeks since beating Tulane in the Military Bowl. They have extended multiple offers to some recruits in the upcoming classes.

Offensive lineman Tucker Kattus announced on X that he received an offer from Virginia Tech. The Class of 2025 recruit plays for St. Xavier High School. He has offers from Marshall, Indiana, Ohio, and Georgia Tech. You can watch him here.

The Hokies continue to try and continue to grab the best talent that the state of Virginia has by extending an offer to Braylon Hood from Richmond. The linebacker and tight end plays for Varnia High School.

Three-star defensive lineman Gordy Sulfsted announced on X that Virginia Tech offered him a scholarship. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Sulfsted plays for St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati and is in the Class of 2025.

Georgia Amoore Top 10 award finalist

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced the Top 10 candidates for the 2024 Nancy Lieberman Award and Virginia Tech point guard Georgia Amoore made the list.

Amoore is currently out injured after taking an elbow to the head last Thursday night at Duke diving on the floor for a loose ball in the Hokies' loss to the Blue Devils. Her status for this Thursday's game at home against Georgia Tech is still up in the air.

Conner has strong divisional round game

The Kansas City Chiefs went to Buffalo and beat the Bills, 27-24, to advance to the AFC Championship game Sunday at Baltimore. Former Virginia Tech defensive back Chamarri Conner was the highest-rated defender of the divisional round according to PFF.

Also making the list with Conner was teammate Chris Jones.
