Virginia Tech men's basketball hosting a three-star recruit against Virginia

Monday night, the Virginia Tech men's basketball team returns home to Cassell Coliseum to host in-state rival Virginia in the second Commonwealth Clash of the season. The Hokies dropped the first matchup in January in Charlottesville, 65-57, and they are looking to even the season series with the Cavaliers.

Not only will Mike Young and his team be hosting the Cavaliers, but they'll also be hosting a three-star recruit, Jordan Lowery from the Class of 2025.

On Feb. 5, it was reported that the guard from Denton, Texas who plays at the Winston Salem Christian School, was going to be in Blacksburg for the game and it's clear that he's a priority in recruiting for Young and his staff.

According to 247Sports, Lowery has offers from California, Kansas State, North Carolina State, Oklahoma State, SMU, East Carolina, Missouri and more.

Guards are a future need for Virginia Tech especially since Rodney Rice left the program right before the 2023-24 season started. Recruiting is essential over the next couple of seasons for Young and the coaching staff as they look to get back in the thick of things in the ACC in the coming years with expansion adding three teams next season.
