Four-star quarterback Malik Washington in the Class of 2025 from Severn Archbishop Spaulding High School in Maryland released his final six schools and Virginia Tech made the list. Also on Washington's final list are Syracuse, Maryland, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Penn State.

Washington is someone who has been on Virginia Tech radar since his recruiting began and the Hokies offered him a scholarship back in April of 2022.

Washington is one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2025. Next season the Hokies have Kyron Drones back and the Class of 2024 recruit Davi Belfort, who recently backed out of the Under Armour All-American Game Wednesday as he recovered from an injury he suffered during his senior season. He said on X that he wanted to be ready for Spring ball in Blacksburg, but landing Washington would be huge for the future.

Washington is expected to make January visits to the schools mentioned above, but it's going to be tough for the 6-foot-4, 190-pound signal caller to make those visits as he is in the middle of this high school basketball season. He told 247Sports that he hopes to make his decision in May.

Here is a highlight reel of Washington from this past season from his junior year.

Virginia Tech has stiff competition for Washington

Virginia Tech has no shortage of some big-name schools in the running with them. Syracuse has been hitting it big in the transfer portal this offseason under new coach Fran Brown, while Oregon, Texas A&M, Penn State, and Maryland were top programs in their conferences.

Hokies coach Brent Pry and offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen have been in on Washington and look for them to make him feel like he's at home when he visits Blacksburg.
