In a day and age where most college athletes just commit to one sport, Micah Matthews is looking to be a dual-athlete in college. In fact, the Class of 2025 athlete from Bridgewater, Virginia has scheduled three visits to ACC schools for both football and baseball.

According to 247Sports, Matthews has scheduled a March 9 visit to Clemson, then will be in Blacksburg from June 7-9, before going to North Carolina from June 14-16. This will be Matthews' second visit to Virginia Tech as he was on campus last month and spoke to 247Sports about his visit.

"“Coach (Brent) Pry is a very passionate and energetic man. It was very good to spend time with him in his office viewing the schedule and where they potentially view me on the baseball and football side.”"

Matthews had committed to South Carolina for baseball, but last fall he de-committed from the Gamecocks to focus on football where he is a four-star wide receiver and holds over a dozen offers.

It's clear that there is no decision coming for Matthews for some time, however, the Class of 2025 recruiting is off to a good start for third-year coach Brent Pry and his staff. They already have quarterback Kelden Ryan from Texas committed, along with offensive lineman Carter Stallard who is one three in-state recruits already commited to Tech.

Earlier this month, wide receiver Jayden Anderson and Knahlij Harrell both from Virginia Beach, both committed on the same day. If there is one area that Pry and his staff are really picking up steam in, it's recruiting in the state of Virginia, something that the former Penn State defensive coordinator knew was a must when he replaced Justin Fuente two years ago. So far, so good, and getting a commitment down the line from Matthews could make it even better.
