It’s hard to believe, but the month of May is over and the dog days of summer are upon us. The good news with the calendar turning to June means we are one month closer to the start of the 2024 college football season.

It’s expected to be a very good season in Blacksburg and with each passing month, Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry continues to build a roster that should be in the thick of the race in the ACC this fall. Now that May is over, here are three things we learned about the Hokies over the last 31 days.

Recruiting is picking up steam

Since he has taken over at Virginia Tech, Pry has made recruiting in the state of Virginia a priority. Along with his staff, Pry is really connecting with high schools in the state and we are starting to see it pay off with commitments from the Class of 2025 he has already got.

Earlier this week, four-star in-state recruit Terrance Edwards released his final three schools and the Hokies made the list along with West Virginia and Michigan State. Virginia Tech already has four in-state commitments and landing Edwards, a talented defensive back, would be another in-state win. June is a very busy month for Pry and his staff with a bunch of recruits setting up visits ahead of some decisions that will be made over the summer.
