After a slow start to the 2023 season, the Virginia Tech football team rebounded in a big way to finish at 6-6 and become bowl-eligible. A lot of the success had to do with Brent Pry and the way he rebounded his team and some narratives they he destroyed.

Things did not start well for the Virginia Tech football team in 2023. After starting the season 1-3, they bounced back big time in ACC play going 5-3 to become bowl-eligible and a date with Tulane University in the Military Bowl on Wednesday.

In just his second season in Blacksburg, Pry has made some big strides in some areas this season. There were a lot of questions surrounding the Hokies entering the season in September and more questions were raised during the season. Did everything Pry and his staff tried work? No, but they pushed more positive buttons than negative buttons, which is why they are in Annapolis, Maryland getting ready for the Green Wave.

What a lift Virginia Tech would get from beating an 11-2 Tulane team in the bowl game as the attention will shift to 2024 full-time after the game. There are a lot of things to like going into next season and it's not out of the question that the Hokies are primed to take a big step in their rebuild under the former Penn State defensive coordinator.
