Jaylin Lane

Like Felton and Ali Jennings, Jaylin Lane was another transfer to come to the Hokies in the transfer portal last season and like so many others, the former Middle Tennessee State wide-out played a big role in the passing game. He was right behind Felton in terms of receiving yards with 524 on 37 receptions and he had six touchdowns. He had touchdowns in five of the Hokies' 12 games and against Wake Forest in a 30-13 win on Oct. 14, he had two on three catches for 102 yards.

His first touchdown in that game was a big one right after the Demon Deacons returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown. On Virginia Tech's next play from scrimmage, he had a 75-yard catch and run from Drones for a 17-7 lead and the Hokies didn't look back. He sealed the game in the fourth quarter with a 12-yard touchdown catch. Like Jennins, Felton, and Stephen Gosnell, Lane announced he is coming back in 2024 and gives Drones a big playmaker. If Jennings can come back healthy, Virginia Tech is going to have a wide receiver core that is going to cause nightmares for opposing defensive coordinators.
