Virginia Tech Football: Hokies to host a number of priority recruits this weekend
By Scott Roche
The next to last weekend in June is a big one for Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry and his staff. It's a huge recruiting weekend in Blacksburg in terms of recruits visiting some are making their way there that have already committed to the Hokies and some are priorities.
You have to think that some of the recruits visiting this weekend are coming to help the coaching staff recruit some of the players and who knows, maybe there'll be a commitment or two to come out of the weekend before it's over. Here is a list of the 15 recruits that will be on campus over the next few days.
15 recruits who will be in Blacksburg this weekend
Kelden, Ryan: QB
Jeffrey Overton: RB
Jayden Anderson: WR
Matthew Outten: WR
Amory Hills: OL
Nathaniel Wright: OL
Yvan Kemajou: DE
Jaquavious Dodd: DE
Sherrod Henderson: DE
Zeke Chinwike-Iwuamadi: DL
Brett Clatterbaugh: LB
Noah Chambers: LB
Carson Lawrence: S
Knahlij Harrell: CB
Major Preston: CB
Ok, so there is some stuff to break down here. Ryan is committed to the Class of 2025 and he is someone who has been recruited since his commitment, but so far, he's staying committed to Virginia Tech. Anderson and Harrell, Virginia Beach natives who committed to Pry back in February will be in Blacksburg, while Clatterbaugh is another commit from earlier this year who will be in town.
Overton has been a priority for Virginia Tech for some time and Hills is another offensive lineman that the Hokies have been recruiting hard. Wright has his commitment date set for June 27 and the latest 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction has the Hokies as his landing spot. This weekend could cement that commitment.
Overall, this is a big weekend for Pry and his staff in terms of recruiting and should be an interesting one following the weekend with recruit decisions over the next couple of months picking up across college football.
