Virginia Tech football gets another ranking from EA Sports ahead of CFB 25 release

EA Sports is releasing some rankings for the soon-to-be-released College Football 25 video game that is set to come out on July 19. Earlier this week, they began their "Rankings Week" with the Top 25 toughest stadiums to play in. Virginia Tech, Lane Stadium, cracked the list at No. 17, which honestly, looking at some of the stadiums ahead of them, seems low, very low.
Thursday, EA Sports released their Offensive Power Rankings and really, to nobody's surprise, the Hokies again cracked the Top 25, coming in at No. 24 with an overall rating of 83. They share the same ranking as Florida State, USC, and Oklahoma.
Breaking down the other schools ahead of Virginia Tech and like with the stadium rankings, there are some head-scratchers, to say the least. Miami was ranked seventh, Clemson 10th, North Carolina State was 16th, and first-year ACC member SMU checked in at No. 20. Of Virginia Tech's 2024 opponents, Clemson and Miami, who got some big-time transfers to come to South Florida in Washington State quarterback Cam Ward and Oregon State running back Damien Martinez.
Now some head-scratchers include Colorado at No. 8 and Ole Miss only coming in at No. 13, behind Penn State who they rolled in the Peach Bowl.
Honestly, this ranking for Virginia Tech seems somewhat low with all the players the Hokies have coming back on offense and their ability to put up points this season. You would think that they would have received a higher grade, but a lot of analysts are not sleeping on them for the upcoming season with all the retainment that they have. We'll see if EA Sports got this right.
