Dorian Strong announces on X he's returning to Virginia Tech in 2024

Thursday night on X, Dorian Strong, who had a tremendous 2023 season at cornerback for the Hokies, is returning next season for another year in Blacksburg. This is huge news for head coach Brent Pry and defensive coordinator Chris Marve.

In his message, Strong said that the NFL is there for him, which it is, but he is coming back for another season at Virginia Tech. To say that this is a big decision for the 2024 season in Blacksburg is a big understatement.

This season Strong had 21 tackles, 14 solo, and three interceptions. He had two interceptions at Boston College in a 48-22 Hokies win on Nov. 11 and his first one was in Week 1 against Old Dominion at Lane Stadium. You might think that his numbers are low, but other teams were well aware of him and made it an emphasis to not throw in his direction, something that BC missed the memo on.

It was a long two weeks for Strong and his family to make the decision, but after the banquet on Dec. 3, his father issued a challenge on X for Hokies fans that they wanted him back next season to let his son hear it. They did and he heard it.

Of course, this decision was not made because of Virginia Tech fans, but it was made with what he and his family thought was best for him. Strong returning gives the Hokies a shutdown corner which teams are going to game plan to go away from. With each passing day, the news gets better and better for Pry and Hokies fans for 2024.
