By Scott Roche
The Virginia Tech football team is less than a month away from kicking things off in Nashville against Vanderbilt. This season the Hokies face a schedule that is doable in terms of non-conference and ACC foes, but it's not without some potential road blocks.
As we get closer to the beginning of the season, we will do a game-by-game prediction piece for the Hokies, post-camp and a lot of it will depend on how things go in camp and if they can get out of it without any injury issues. With that said, let's continue our preseason look at the upcoming season with the five toughest games on Virginia Tech's schedule this fall.
Virginia Tech's five toughest games of 2024
Last season the Hokies impressively rolled over the Orange at home and it started their run of winning five of their final seven games to finish 5-3 in the conference and a Military Bowl win over Tulane. Syracuse has Fran Brown in charge for his first year in New York and he has brought in some good talent through the transfer portal.
The biggest addition is Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord and factor in a schedule that is very doable, there could be a lot on the lineup at the Dome in November. Factor in the Hokies hosting Clemson the following weekend, this has a trap game written all over it for Brent Pry's team.
