Virginia Tech Football: 3 biggest things were learned in July
By Scott Roche
Brent Pry & Kyron Drones have high expectations this season
There was a lot to take away from ACC Media Day for Virginia Tech in Charlotte last week, but maybe the two biggest things were the expectations that Pry and quarterback Kyron Drones have for the upcoming season.
Speaking with the media in Charlotte, Pry said that he would be "disappointed" if his team was not in the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte in December and you would have to think that with the schedule within the conference that they have, it's certainly doable. No North Carolina State, Louisville, and Florida State are big, with Miami and Clemson the two biggest tests at the beginning of the season on the schedule.
Drones sounded similar to his coach with his goals for the upcoming season as he didn't sugarcoat things by saying, "My expectations are to win the ACC Championship. Just going out there and dominating week by week, winning every game. This is a team very capable of having an undefeated season. Just going out there to win the ACC Championship, get into the playoffs and then leaving our mark."
When your coach and team leader speak like that, it can't help but fire you up for a season if you're part of the team and the expectations are real this fall in Blacksburg.
