Slowly but surely, the Virginia Tech football team is piling up injuries. This season, a majority of the injuries have been building up during the first three games, and heading into this weekend's non-conference game at Lane Stadium against Rutgers, it's a rather long list for Week 4.

Tuesday at his weekly press conference, head coach Brent Pry discussed several topics, and injuries came up and it turned into a rather alarming long list.

Brent Pry gives concerning injury update ahead of Rutgers

For two weeks, the Hokies have been without safety Jalen Stroman and special teammer Will Johnson who were both injured in Week 1 at Vanderbilt. According to Pry, the list for this week is lengthy, players are going to be limited in practice and some are questionable going into Saturday's 3:30 kickoff.

"To be frank with you, we've got eight or nine guys who are questionable,'' Pry said. "Xavier (Chaplin) is limited, Ali (Jennings) is limited and Bhayshul (Tuten) is limited. Keli (Lawson) is limited.''

That's not a great update. Jennings was injured against his former team, Old Dominion, Saturday night and didn't play in the second half. Chaplin played a few snaps against the Monarchs before he left the game, while Tuten, who was nursing an injury last week in practice but rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns at ODU, will be limited again in practice for a second week in a row. Offensive lineman Brady Meadows "is banged up'' according to Pry.

In a not-too-surprising-update, Nick Gallo will be out again, which is disappointing after what he went through last season with an injury at the end of camp.

There are still four days before the Hokies kick things off against the Scarlet Knights in Blacksburg and hopefully being limited will help some of these players get on the field as it will need to be an all-hands-on-deck against a very good Big Ten team.
