Virginia Tech Baseball begins 2024 season as one of six teams with rare feat
By Scott Roche
Last weekend the 2024 college softball season began and this weekend, the college baseball season throws its first pitch in the 2024 season.
The Virginia Tech baseball team will begin the season with a three-game series on the road at Charlotte this weekend, with the first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday. Game 2 will be on Saturday at 2 and the third and final game on Sunday at 1. The ACC is once again going to be a loaded conference in baseball. It will be tough for Virginia Tech, which is why they need to take advantage of their non-conference schedule beginning this weekend.
The Hokies return some good talent and they have six players ranked in D1 Baseball Preseason Player Rankings. Virginia Tech is one of six programs that have a player ranked at first base, second base, shortstop, and third base. They join Arkansas, Florida State, North Carolina, Vanderbilt and Oregon State.
