The 2024 Olympic Summer Games are underway, but they get officially underway Friday with the opening ceremony in Paris. For the Opening Ceremonies, LeBron James and Coco Gauff will be the USA flag bearers, and then things get fully underway after that.

There are several Virginia Tech athletes who are going to compete in the Paris Olympics 2024 and here is a list of those Hokies who will represent their country over the next couple of weeks,

  • Nickeil Alexander-Walker: Canada Men's Basketball
  • Sami Hill: Canada Women's Basketball
  • Ian Ho: Hong Kong Swimming & Diving
  • Carles Coll Marti: Spain Swimming & Diving
  • Luis Dominguez Calogne: Spain Swimming & Diving
  • Mario Mollya Yanes: Spain Swimming & Diving
  • Carmen Weiler Sastre: Spain Swimming & Diving
  • Emily Santos: Panama Swimming & Diving
  • Maxine Egner: Botswana Swimming & Diving
  • Neil Gourley: Great Britain Track & Field
  • Sergio Lopez Miro: Iceland Swimming & Diving Coach

Alexander-Walker is someone who could affect Team USA's Men's Basketball chance for a Gold Medal as Canada is one of a couple of teams who has a chance, albeit a small one, to knock off the American's on the court over the next couple of weeks should they meet. Regardless, the next couple of weeks is an Olympic dream for fans who can sit back and watch wall-to-wall coverage.
