Virginia Tech all-time NIT record and history
By Scott Roche
For the second consecutive season, the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team is going to the NIT. In an up-and-down 2023-24 season, the Hokies were hoping for an NCAA Tournament berth, but their struggles away from Blacksburg were just too much to overcome.
Last season in the first round of the NIT, Virginia Tech lost at Cincinnati and this season, because of teams opting out, the Hokies will open the tournament at home against Richmond on Tuesday night at Cassell Coliseum. As the Hokies and Spiders get ready to play each other, here is Virginia Tech’s NIT Tournament history.
