Selection Sunday 2024: Time, Date & How to Watch men's and women's special
By Scott Roche
It’s hard to believe, but Selection Sunday for the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament is just over a month away on March 17. This season, Virginia Tech fans will have an interest in both, but it’s likely only one team will find their way into the big dance.
The Hokies’ men will need to run the table through the ACC Tournament in March if they are going to have their name called on March 17 for the NCAA Tournament. The Virginia Tech women will be part of the 68-team field and they are in the running to host the first and second rounds in Blacksburg, similar to what they did last season.
There are a lot of questions as to how many men’s teams from the ACC will be in the field of 68 as right now North Carolina and Duke are locks, with Clemson just about a lock as well. After that, the only other two teams that will have a shot are Virginia and Wake Forest. After that, it’s likely NIT or nothing for the rest of the conference.
On the women’s side, Charlie Creme of ESPN had nine ACC teams in the field, tied with the SEC for the most teams. There is still a month to go and whether or not it stays that way remains to be seen. With that said, here is all the information you need to watch both selections shows on March 17.
