Recruiting for the Class of 2025 is going to start to pick up over the next couple of months for college football. Over the next two months, Virginia Tech and head coach Brent Pry and his staff and players will be hosting several recruits and some are planning on deciding on their future soon after their visit.

One Class of 2025 recruit, who you could consider a priority, recently visited Virginia Tech last month and according to Rivals.com, he doesn’t have a leader, but he is “very high’’ on Virginia Tech.

QB Malik Washington reportedly “very high” on Virginia Tech

Four-star quarterback Malik Washington of Severn, Maryland, and Archbishop Spalding High School, was in Blacksburg on the weekend of April 13 for the Hokies' annual Spring Game and reportedly came away “very high” on the Hokies according to Adam Friedman of rivals.com.

"Washington is preparing for the homestretch of his recruitment. His official visit schedule begins with UCF on May 31 followed by Syracuse on June 7 and Maryland on June 21. An official visit to Baylor on June 14 is in the works but isn’t locked in yet. Washington is looking at committing in early July, soon after his official visits. He doesn’t claim a leader at this point but he is very high on Virginia Tech after taking an official visit to Blacksburg in mid-April for their spring game."

Currently, Virginia Tech already has a commitment from DeSoto, Texas quarterback Kelden Ryan in the Class of 2025 along with four other recruits. Washington, however, is a QB who is being touted by other schools, and rightfully so with his skill set and athletic ability. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound signal caller is ranked fourth in the state of Maryland in the class and 178th overall nationally.

Washington has other visits scheduled, commitments coming in July

Washington, as stated above, has visits to Central Florida, Maryland, and Baylor between May and June. He would like to make his announcement in July ahead of the 2024 season. Landing Washington would be one of the bigger commitments that Pry has got in his short time in Blacksburg.
