Could Sean Pedulla end up at an ACC school in the transfer portal?

It's not too far fetched that Sean Pedulla ends up back in the ACC in the transfer portal.

It’s been two weeks since Virginia Tech point guard Sean Pedulla announced he was entering the transfer portal. In his announcement on X, the junior from Oklahoma said that he is leaving the door open for a potential return to Blacksburg. In the big picture, that seems unlikely, especially after head coach Mike Young has already got a commitment from Jordan Ivy-Curry who will likely be a replacement for Pedulla.

Of course, Pedulla could decide to return to the Hokies, but if doesn’t, could he land back in the ACC for the 2024-25 season?

Could Sean Pedulla end up at Pittsburgh?

Oh my, if this actually happened, then think of the storylines when the Hokies and Panthers play next season. Pittsburgh is coming off a season where they appeared to do enough to get an NCAA Tournament berth but found themselves on the outside looking in. You could have made the case that they deserved at least a First Four game over Virginia, but we’ll never know if they would have fared better against Colorado State than the Cavaliers did.

Pittsburgh is a program that is ready to take the next step under Jeff Capel and get into the NCAA Tournament and be a yearly player in the ACC standings. Adding Pedulla would give them another scoring option and another ball handler to the roster. Pittsburgh has Jaland Lowe to handle the ball, but Pedulla, who had most of the ball handling duties dropped on him at Virginia Tech this past season after Rodney Rice stunningly left the team right before the season started. It wasn’t his fault that he was put into the position he was in that saw a spike in his turnover numbers, something that Young defended.

Virginia Tech saw how good Pittsburgh was this past season and adding Pedulla to a roster ready to break through would be good for Capel and the Panthers and not good for the Hokies.
